Yes. Improvement would be welcomed. It was a rough adventure doing this one. Fortunately I like chili, so another try was soon to follow. I should document these more often.

That is quite an interesting recipe, Jed. However your recipe does give me ideas, including areas for improvement and ideas to take to other recipes. I love making chili! One idea that I thought of right off the bat was slowly caramelizing the onions in the apple butter. Also, I would drain the beans and rinse them, and I would definitely go for whole chipotles in adobo sauce. I may have to try this. I've been experimenting at home a lot with candy and baking. I recently made some salted bacon chocolates that were pretty tasty.

Oh damn y'all I'm sorry I missed the reunion! I had it up on my calendar and then one event led to another and Rondell just let the time slip right past her. Can I host it next year?

At your own peril my dear fellow! Actually when I got to work this morning I found a massive brick of the sordid concoction on my desk festooned in bows and ribbons - apparently someone's twisted idea of a birthday greeting. I was going to use it as doorstop but your are most certainly welcome to it!

Stop!!! Step away from the bun and cheese! I am Canadian but have been living in Jamaica the last few years I can tell you first hand that bun and cheese is all wrong!!! First off the "cheese" is this suspiciously day-glo orange waxy disc that not only does not require any refrigeration it also has the a shelf life older than the sun! The bun is this 40 pound loaf of molasses soaked doom that sticks to the back of throat for days on end before hitting the bottom of your stomach with an audible thud...trust me, you're gonna want to leave the shit alone!
